Kirsten Strough is a lifelong Idahoan, born and raised in a small town in the Treasure Valley where she didn’t feel safe coming out. But when she attended Boise State University, she met others in the LGBTQIA+ community who were supportive, giving her the permission and courage to be herself. Through this foundational experience, Kirsten learned the importance of being out and proud and fighting for others in the queer community.

She joined the TCC board in 2024. Kirsten is using her professional expertise as a visual communicator to aid The Community Center through social media, web, printed materials, newsletters, etc.

She and her wife, Emily, live on the bench with their three dogs, four chickens, and huge vegetable garden. Kirsten enjoys many hobbies, with her favorites lately being hiking, backpacking, and woodworking.
