We are run solely by volunteers, so pitching in would go a long way to supporting the Treasure Valley’s LGBTQIA+ community! Check out the positions and one-time volunteer opportunities we are currently recruiting for.

Recurring Positions

Grant Writer

Description: The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from private foundations, government agencies, and corporate donors. This role plays a critical part in sustaining and expanding our programs and services through effective grant acquisition and relationship building with funders.

Skills needed: 2+ years of experience in community based grant writing , Responsive to email and texts, Organized, Attention to detail, Record keeping, Reliable, Can work independently with little oversight (once trained), Can use or learn Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)

Estimated Time: 3-5 hours per week

Advocacy Lead

Description: Help The Community Center promote awareness of Idaho laws and legislative issues that affect the LGBTQIA+ community. Prepare our queer, trans, and allied community for opportunities to testify, political events to attend, and other ways to stay informed. 

Skills needed: Educated about the Idaho legislative process and passionate about politics; organized, reliable, responsive, and independent; can use or learn Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.); excellent communication skills.

Estimated Time: 1-4 hours per week

Bookkeeper

Description: Our bookkeeper is responsible for accurately keeping track of The Community Center’s financial records through Quickbooks Online and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for board review. They will also be familiar with the finance section of our TCC Policy Manual and will provide oversight to ensure that these policies are followed by purchasers.

Skills needed: Expertise in QuickBooks Online; basic accounting; attention to detail; reliable and responsive to email and texts; communication, both written and verbal

Estimated Time: 1-2 hours per week
