Judy Cross — Board Member

Judy Cross (she/her) has been involved in TCC since it transitioned from “Your Family, Friends, and Neighbors” to “The Community Center” in the late 1990s, and she has been a board member on and off since 2003.
She retired from 40 years at St Luke’s as the 1st Clinical Nurse Specialist in Idaho but continues to provide care coordination and advocacy for patients with complex medical needs.
Judy has been an activist most of her life, having been arrested marching with black college students following the death of MLK (1968), advocating for LGBTQ+, women’s, civil and human rights. She was a trainer with Add the Words and arrested 8 times. She was a member of the Ada County Human Rights Task Force until it transitioned to the current Wassmuth Center for Human Rights.
Judy is Sr Deacon at Liberating Spirit Metropolitan Community Church, a member of the Steering Committee for the Interfaith Equality Coalition, and President of the Board for The Interfaith Alliance of Idaho.
She was soulmate with her gay husband (a priest), mother for 3 daughters and a son, and “Momma J” for several kiddos through the years. When she has “down time” or when requested, Judy enjoys designing fresh flower, multi-element, and dried flower arrangements.
