Emily’s professional background is mostly in writing and editing, with a bachelor’s in Creative Writing from BSU and 13 years of experience with journalism, fiction, poetry, technical communication, and content management in various roles at Idaho Media Corporation, The Cabin, and HP, Inc.
She served for several years as the Communications Lead in HP Boise’s LGBTQIA Pride employee resource group, and represented HP at the 2016 Out & Equal Workplace Summit. In 2022, she completed the two-year Leadership Boise program through Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. She also used to volunteer for The Community Center while in college, mostly working on Diversity Magazine.
These days, Emily is a happily funemployed stay-at-home dog and chicken mom. She spends her days gardening, hiking, cooking, baking, crafting, traveling, volunteering, and perpetually photographing all of the above. She and her wife Kirsten both joined TCC’s board in 2024.
